Firsts

First day of First Grade...

We curled her hair and she was hoping that a girl named Gabby would like it. Imagine my surprise when, as we were waiting in the hallway for the bell, a girl with naturally curly hair came right over and said, "Mila, I like your curly hair!" It was in fact, Gabby, and I silently thanked the superficiality gods for granting my shortest-shyest-girl-in-the-class her first day wish! Bring on the self-esteem!

Oh yes, and speaking of curls, sugar, spice, and everything nice, in case you haven't heard, we will be welcoming two more girls into our family. Can you believe it? Poor Ethan. I brought up some of Mila's baby clothes the other day and as Mila and I were oohing and aahing at the little dresses, Ethan asked, "Where are the boy clothes?" I said, "Uh, in the basement--we don't need them because we're having girls, remember?" Wrong answer. He spent the next hour screaming and pleading, "Please make them be boys! I need boys, not girls!" I finally had to say, "Well, maybe the dr. was wrong..." just to get him to stop. My 300% boy is in for the shock of his life! Although he has been carrying around two "babies" (a teddy bear and a dog) and making me be quiet all day so they can nap, so there is some hope...

Mila is beautiful and so precious! And I can't wait to come and hold those two new babies, in Dec.!

You tell Ethan that Mimi will be bringing Aydan, so he will have someone to hang with, while the girls are all being girly!

Even though Aydan is very in touch with his feminine side...

I can't believe how old Mila is getting. Even since Zion. I like her hair curled. I think it is so cute that Mila was ohhing and ahhing about the babies' clothes. Poor Ethan, maybe Clayton can give him advice on how to survive with all those girls.

What a cutie...Mila is such a big girl now!!! She looked so cute on her first day of school. Poor Ethan--send him on down to my house--all we do is boys around here!

Mila is so cute and grown up in those pictures! She will have fun with two little sisters! Just remind Ethan that he has a million boy cousins! :)

Being the only boy among tons of girls isn't all bad.
1. No hand-me-downs (at least very few).
2. Typically you are bigger than they are, so they mostly leave you alone.
3. You get your own room (eventually).
4. They don't borrow/break your stuff (very often).
5. You can borrow/break their stuff and blame it on one of the other sisters (they would be much more likel to borrow it anyway).
6. They give better fashion advice than brothers (hmm, may need to rethink that, I became an engineer).
7. There is plenty of room in the tent on father & sons' outings.

I mostly enjoyed the "bigger than them" part.

How strange when the last time I saw Mila she wasn't even crawling. She's a person now!

Any cute pictures of you as a pregnant woman with twins? Come on...
